From the art to the agricultural world

BARBARA BENISH will speak at the round table "From the world of art to the agricultural world" on Friday November 13 at 5 p.m. Benish is an artist, curator, writer and farmer. She is the founder and director of ArtMill, a rural farm which is an extension of her social art practice. She has been an advisor to the United Nations Environment Program, member of the Social Practice Arts Research Center (UCSC) and a Fulbright scholar. She co-authored Form, Art, & the Environment with Nathalie Blanc (Routledge, 2017), and is currently working on three new books: Art, Food and Farming (Routledge, 2021), also with Blanc; “1989” (ArtDialog, 2020); and the illustrations for The Aesthetics of Precarity (Mike Shapiro & Sam Opondo, 2021). A 15 year retrospective of Benish’s work on water issues will be shown at the Doyle Gallery in California, spring of 2021.
