The Public Art class of Professor Dee Hibbert-Jones at UCSC brought art and games to the shores of Seacliff State Park by staging a “happening” with  the public and 5th and 6th graders from nearby schools. Visitors and residents of Aptos, Capitola, and  Santa Cruz  learned about ocean conservancy via art projects, games, a bike powered water decanter, and a parade of costumed marine creatures dancing down the wharf. “Ship to Shore” is meant to emphasize the connectedness of our waste and use of resources on land that effect the sea, no matter where we are based on the planet. A beach clean-up with Save Our Shores followed the festivities.
